In 1963, John Snow started growing peonies in his backyard. The business grew
and soon John's wife, Ida, and John Jr. were all involved in John's Tree
digging Service. In 1972, the name was changed to Snow's Nursery. Son David came
aboard in 1977 and incorporation followed for the growing business, With John as
President John Jr. as Vice President, Ida as secretary and David as
Treasurer, In 1980 John Jr. took Cindy as his bride and added another key
person. Over the years what began as a backyard peony garden has grown to more
than 500 acres of field and container-grown nursery stock. A wholesale grower,
distributor and retailer of Trees and Shrubs, Snow's delivers product to six
states including Michigan, with its own fleet of trucks from the company
headquarters on Dunbar road.
